Afghan players’ remarkable performance made them popular in the latest PSL 6 2021, which has been postponed on Thursday March 4, 2021 due to increasing COVID-19 patient in the event.
Playing on behalf of Afghanistan were Rashid khan, Muhammad Nabi and Qais Ahmad, who paved way to victory for their respective teams by displaying extraordinary sportsmanship and performances on the field.
Rashid Khan
Rashid khan, who was playing for Lahore Qalandar, led Qalandar to their first victory against Peshawar Zalmi, in the second match of PSL6, alongside Muhammad Hafeez by scoring a heroic cameo of 27 runs off 15 balls. While bowling he gave off only 14 runs in 4 overs. In his second match (4th of PSL6) against Quetta Gladiators, he packed 1 wicket of Quetta out of total 9 wickets packed by Lahore leading to Lahore’s second victory. Rashid left PSL after these two matches as he had to join Afghan national team in UAE for two test matches against Zimbabwe.
Muhammad Nabi
On the other hand, Muhammad Nabi a.k.a “The president” displayed extraordinary batting capabilities while playing for Karachi Kings. Playing in the first match of PSL6 against Quetta, Muhammad Nabi played a classic match-winning knock of 30 off just 14 balls with 3 maximums leading to a comfortable chase of 121 in just 13.5 overs. In match#11 of PSL against Lahore Qalandar, Muhammad Nabi scored a smashing 57 off 35 balls but unfortunately Karachi lost the match. Playing against Peshawar Zalmi on Wednesday, he made a 118 runs partnership alongside Babar Azam while scoring his second consecutive half-century (67 off 35), guiding Karachi to an easy six-wickets win.
Qais Ahmed
20-year old Qais Ahmad from Nangarhar also made his mark while playing for Quetta Gladiator. While playing against Multan sultan on March 3rd, he shined the ball by taking 3 wickets while giving off only 21 runs in 4 overs. Defending a target of 176, Quetta became the first team in PSL 6 to defend a target by bowling out the whole Multan team by 154 runs.
The news of PSL postponed is going hard on its fan all across the world, especially in cricket-loving countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan, but Afghani players entertained the audience with their blasting performance during this edition while collecting amass love from the Pakistani audience.
